Check out where your city ranks in the affluence survey...

Think the recession has impacted everyone equally? Guess again -- portfolio.com conducted a survey that looked at the relative affluence of all 420 cities, towns, and unincorporated urban areas in the nation with more than 75,000 residents, and the results are a bit surprising.

  • Surprise #1 is that Northern California has 6 cities in the top 20
  • Surprise #2 is that Pleasanton California comes in as the 3rd most affluent city in the nation
#1 in the Country is Newport Beach California and #420 in the Country is Reading Pennsylvania. Very cool interactive map can be viewed (HERE) and you can download a PDF of the survey results (HERE).
